Divisions are based on the player's birth year and follow the age categories listed during registration.

If you believe your child should be evaluated for a different division, please contact us at coldlakeminorball@gmail.com. Division changes are considered on a case-by-case basis and are approved only in exceptional situations.

Yes. Registration numbers are determined by:

• Available roster spots


• Number of volunteer coaches


• Field availability

If a division fills, a waitlist will be created.

If there are not enough players to form a team in a division, all registration fees for that division will be refunded.

Full refunds, less any administration or processing fees, are available prior to the start of the season.

Once the season has begun, refunds will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and are subject to Board review and approval.

The season typically begins in early May, depending on weather and field conditions. We may offer indoor preseason sessions in late April, but these are not guaranteed.

• Rally Cap and House League: May through late June


• Competitive Teams: May through July, with some teams playing longer depending on league and tournament commitments

Most teams can expect a combination of weekday practices and games. Depending on the division and league, games, tournaments, and special events may also be scheduled on weekends.

Division-specific schedules will be communicated before the season begins. While we strive for consistency from year to year, playing nights and times are subject to change.

Please note: Families should anticipate occasional weekend commitments throughout the season, particularly for competitive teams, tournaments, playoffs, and league events.

Once teams are formed, coaches and team managers will communicate schedules, practice times, and important updates through email and team communication apps.

Please ensure your contact information is current during registration.

Cold Lake Minor Ball provides team and training equipment required for practices and games, including:

• Practice balls


• Tees and training equipment


• Catcher's gear


• Team jerseys and hats (division dependent)


• Other shared team equipment as required

As part of our long-term equipment strategy, the association is encouraging families to purchase their own batting helmets and bats whenever possible. Personal equipment helps ensure proper fit, safety, and availability throughout the season.

All players are required to provide:

• Baseball or softball glove

• Athletic footwear appropriate for the playing surface

Families are strongly encouraged to provide:

• Batting helmet


• Bat


• Protective jill/cup as required by division rules

Additional equipment requirements may vary by age division and will be communicated before the season begins.

Note: Association equipment may be available in limited quantities; however, families should plan to gradually provide their player with their own helmet and bat whenever possible. This helps ensure the best fit, safety, and player experience.

We are a volunteer-run organization and always need coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, scorekeepers, and other volunteers.

Generally, coaches are required to complete a Criminal Record Check. Additional training and certification opportunities may be available and will be communicated before the season.
